Bourjois ‘Healthy Mix’ Foundation & Powder

Bourjois ‘Healthy Mix’ Foundation & Powder

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation is generally considered one of the best budget bases out there, and I’ve seen it being recommended by top make-up artist Lisa Eldridge. It comes in lots of shades of many skin tones – pictured here is the shade ‘Vanilla’, which is good for fair-skinned girls.

The packaging looks a bit naff and I don’t like the phony fruity smell, but this base does have a really nice light texture that glides on well and gives good medium coverage for those who need to even out their skin tone, especially if used with a buffing brush. You can also sheer it out by mixing it with a few drops of face oil and/or applying it with a damp beauty sponge:

Bourjois Healthy Balance powder comes in four shades – I bought ‘Vanilla’, to match the foundation. This powder has a fine texture, so it shouldn’t look too cakey on your skin if you apply it lightly to the t-zone with a small powder brush. My skin is quite dry, but I think this powder would be ideal for oilier skin types, as it has a very good mattifying effect.

Do be aware that the main ingredient in this product is talc, so use it sparingly if you tend to get blocked pores, as it could lead to break-outs!
