MAKE-UP LESSONS

I offer make-up lessons for all ages, from teenagers who are just starting out playing with make-up, to brides who want to learn how to do their own make-up beautifully on their wedding day, to mature women who want to refresh their look and learn how to look years younger!

I’ll share with you my tried-and-tested professional techniques and insider secrets to ensure that you look your very best both in person and in photographs. This will give you a real boost of confidence at college or at work, in your social life, and especially if you’re going on dates.

Once you’ve invested in the make-up lesson itself, it will almost certainly save you money in the long-term, as I will recommend the perfect products for your skin type and skin tone. This will save you wasting your hard-earned cash on foundations that look go orange on your skin, lipsticks that don’t suit you, and so on!

Individual make-up lessons are a relaxed one-to-one discussion, where you have your make-up done and I give you in-depth and bespoke advice while doing your make-up. I’ll then e-mail you detailed and tailored notes and skin care and make-up product recommendations after the lesson, for you to keep and refer back to. You’re welcome to bring your make-up bag along, so that we can discuss what products will still work for you and which ones should probably be binned – a sort of make-up bag detox!

Group make-up lessons usually take the form of me doing a make-up demonstration on a volunteer, followed by product ‘play time’, during which I share my knowledge and respond to the group’s questions. These sessions are great fun for hen dos and birthday parties.

Make-up lessons are a lovely, thoughtful and unusual gift for your mum, aunt, sister or friend’s birthday, Christmas, Mother’s Day etc, and as such I offer special gift vouchers which you can give to them to let them know that you’ve treated them to a lesson with me!

HEAD SHOT MAKE-UP

If you want to look really polished and professional in your new work head shots or promotional stills /videos for your website, or super glamorous for your boudoir shoot, I will use my tried-and-tested techniques – which I have developed over many years of practice – to ensure that you look your very best when photographed.

Even if the photographer is friendly, photo shoots can be quite intimidating and nerve-wracking if like most people, you’re not used to being in front of the camera. HD cameras and bright studio lights can be very harsh, so great photographic make-up will be your secret weapon to ensure that you feel much more confident in front of the camera and look naturally perfect!

The key elements of great photographic make-up are smooth and even skin with a fairly matte finish, so that you don’t look oily or sweaty under the bright and possibly hot lights; neatly groomed eyebrows and defined eyes that really ‘pop’ and sparkle with personality; and flattering soft colour on your lips and cheeks to bring some warmth to your face, especially if you’re being photographed against a pale background which may wash you out.

I also offer hair styling for head shot, individual photo shoot and boudoir shoots as needed for an additional fee, depending on how long your hair is and what sort of style you have in mind.
