“As I flick through Catherine’s portfolio, I cannot help but feel in awe of her work. Her work is subtle yet strong, eye catching yet understated. Training part time, Catherine gave up her successful career in book publishing and fulfilled her dream of becoming a make-up artist. These days, with a jam-packed diary and a reputation to be proud of, she creates flawless looks on her clients.” – Hot Courses
My name is Catherine Bailey, and I’m a fashion and bridal make-up artist and hair stylist based in Reigate in Surrey. I’m available for photo shoots, special occasions and weddings in London and Surrey only.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with make-up. One of my earliest school paintings (aged about five) was of a lady wearing gold eye shadow and red nail polish, and as a little girl I used to regularly raid my mother’s dressing table and paint her cosmetics all over my face, much to her amusement!
In my early twenties, I discovered the late Kevyn Aucoin’s iconic books Making Faces and Face Forward, which inspired me to try and teach myself how to apply make-up like a professional, practicing on myself and friends and family. I went on to train at the highly respected London School of Beauty & Make-up, where I studied for my VTCT qualification, and then completed an intensive course in hair styling at AOFM in London.
Since graduating, I’ve done numerous fashion and beauty shoots, and my work has been featured on the covers of The Debut Magazine, Your London Wedding and Your Surrey Wedding magazines.
I’m proud to be a recommended supplier on top UK wedding blogs Love My Dress, Rock My Wedding and Whimsical Wonderland Weddings.
Fully insured by Salon Gold, my approach to every project is friendly, creative and ultra-professional, and I carry a wide range of premium products in my kit, including cosmetics from Bobbi Brown, Becca, Clarins, Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, Hourglass, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier and NARS.
