New skin care from Embryolisse

New skin care from Embryolisse

I’ve recently been trying out some new products from Embryolisse, which the French pharmacy skincare brand very kindly sent me to try. Embryolisse is a cult brand particularly among fashion make-up artists, and is available online at Boots and selected pharmacies in the UK.

First up is Lisseur Bonne Mine (£24.99 for 40ml) from their ‘Artist Secret’ range which is a light, refreshing gel cream which comes in a pump dispenser, and is designed to reduce the appearance of fatigue on the face. It contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin, and I found that it has an instant tightening and temporary lifting effect. I didn’t find it hydrating enough for my very dry skin, but I think it would be perfect for combination to oily skins as it is so lightweight and doesn’t leave any greasy residue on the skin. I personally prefer to use this as a primer under make-up (or instead of foundation on good skin days!) as it has lots of very fine gold sparkles which give the skin a subtle but flattering glow.

There are quite a few micellar waters on the market now in the UK as they’re such a fast and easy way to remove your make-up at the end of a busy day, but the Embryolisse Lotion Micellaire (£15.99 for 250ml) is one of my favourites, because it has a lovely floral scent thanks to the cornflower and camomile extracts it contains. I found that it removed even my waterproof mascara with ease, and it soothed rather than irritated my very sensitive skin, which was a relief!

Finally, I tried a very clever new product from Embryolisse called Eclat du Regard (£20.50 for 4.5g) which is also from their ‘Artist Secret’ range. Basically it’s a cooling and refreshing eye cream but in a stick format! It has an instant cooling and tightening effect with aloe vera which makes the eyes look less puffy. Although it is quite pricey for such a small amount of product, this stick is perfect for those days when your eyes are sore from a terrible night’s sleep or you’ve been crying or rubbing your eyes a lot…I definitely intend to use this on my brides and their bridal party on their wedding morning! You could even store this stick in the fridge first for an extra cooling effect.

Many thanks to Sparkle PR for kindly sending me these samples to add to my kit!
